Tom Wolfe Memorial
Tom Wolfe had been a member of Ascension Lutheran Church since his youth. He learned to play the organ and he eventually became the music director of the congregation. He was an essential part of our Sunday worship planning and practices, as well as a great friend. His loss has not only affected Ascension, but the whole Chattanooga community, where he had grown up, was a long-time educator and principal in the Chattanooga city schools and at St. Nicholas Episcopal School, and sang in several local choirs including the Bach Choir, the Scenic City Chorale, and the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera Chorus.
Because of the ongoing Covid pandemic in 2021, we were unable to hold a proper service to celebrate Tom’s life. Please join us on Saturday, July 22, at 1:00 pm, for a service to honor Tom. Many local musicians will be participating before and during the service. The prelude will begin at 12:30. There will be a reception and a display of memorabilia in the fellowship hall after the service.
